Perhaps making it so the Exif data could be edited by the poster of an image would be a good idea.
Much of my own work does not have exif data, but, I find the equipment details interesting on other folks images. I shoot mostly film and I scan the negatives...as such there wouldn't be any exif data. And when I shoot digital, I do so in RGB for the sake of printing, but for the web, I create a new canvas in sRGB and paste the print image into the new canvas again eliminating the exif data.
