Canon 5D Mirror Detached

Today I was taking some shots and I heard a very bad clunk inside my Canon 5D, then I noticed that my viewfinder was completely black. I took off my lens and found that the mirror was completely loose inside the case. I was completely scared of what happened. I took it to a safe place and tried to reattach it but no luck. I thought it might click into place or something. It looks like its held together with 4 tacks of glue. What kind of crap is that!
This is a bummer as its been a while since I shot last and was excited to get out with my camera once again. After some internet searching I noticed Canon issued a recall on 5Ds back in Feb. I never registered mine so I never got the notice. I'll call them tomorrow to see what they say.
Has anyone else been through this?
