I was moved to record the image of a gentleman who was obviously and totally absorbed. The occasion was the annual book-fare for the nonprofit Housing Works, which is a wonderful advocacy group for people with HIV. The mood illustrated is one of concentration.
And so, this brief poem, written by Arnold Lobel
Books To the Ceiling
Books to the ceiling
Books to the sky
My piles of books are a mile high
How I love them
How I need them
I'll have a long beard by the time I read them
