Best viewed in full size mode. The Harzer Schmalspur Bahnen again...A morning departure on a cold October morning produced a wonderful smoke and steam effect as this train drew out of Werningerode.Processed as ever with Silver Efex Pro 2 from an 8-bit TIFF produced in Nikon's Capture NX2 raw software. The mono process involved a landscape preset with some minor tweaks to the bring out shadow detail (dodge/burn) and replicating Kodak's ISO32 Panatomic X film emulsion (including its grain!). I wanted to capture the style of my favourite UK railway photographer, Colin Gifford, who almost single-handedly changed steam train photography in the mid-1960's. To see more of Colin's work Goggle his name in the "images" section...Thanks for viewing, commenting and whatever else you may care to do... but most all of... ENJOY!
