I'm lucky to have a small lake within driving distance of home. In winter the sun rises over the best bits of the lake. This morning (13 January 2012) was cold & frosty and the water mirror calm.
I made six images and as the best of the light slipped away from dawn into morning put my Lee 'Big Stopper' on the front and guessed an exposure - just for fun. This is the image...
I processed the raw in Capture NX2 before importing and converting it to a DNG in Lightroom 4 Beta where a little tweaking took place. I converted to mono in Silver Efex Pro 2 using a low key preset, which I tweaked until I got the result I wanted. Finally, I added the film emulsion from Kodak's much-missed ISO32 Panatomic X (with grain!) to give the image a filmic look.
I do hope you like it; please feel free to comment or anything else while you're here. Thanks for looking and, most of all... ENJOY! \0/
