Answering The Letter From Ania 1.

Dear Saad,
I have some question according to my studies, I have the exam from the subject of art of islam, and there are examples of buildings and other works of art in book, but in many cases the photos are too few or they suck really; one is from your home city, it's Mashhad al-Imam 'Awn al-Din, maybe you have some photos from there? It's really easier to have photos as examples and illustration, not just that "very wise architectural description with use of too many wise words". If you have some photos of that building, exterior and/or interior and could send me something, that would be much help, if not then I have to cope somehow with book :p

Hi dear Ania.
I am afraid I have a bad news,I have done my visit to the Awn Al Din Tomb.
the situation is like this :the tomb that I used to visit with my grandmother when I was less than ten years of age,is to be descended to by some twenty stairs,I remember it clear as if I am visiting it now,The tomb, mihrab, and some 16 step is covered by water,so every thing have been GONE for ever ,what they have rescued are the main gate to the mihrab (altar) which is made from marble ,it was thrown out side in the grave yard.
This gate that I photos is old ,and I have taken images of the inner side of the dome that covers the tomb, they were so difficult ,you know there is no power when we go there.
I will send you the images ,of the dome ,the gate, and one graveyard room attached to the main tomb of Awn Al Din.
it is gone forever ,like all preoccupation Iraqi artifacts.
