This was a single shot, taken in 2001 with a Mamiya RZ67--no photoshopping involved.
This image was inspired by a shot that Dan Winters took of Perry Farrell for Rolling Stone. To make a shot like this (on film in the days before digital cameras and photoshop made creating images like this much easier), I had to build the set you see here, which is basically an upside down room--the "cat", table, beer case, and carpet were all affixed to the ceiling of the room My model Eric, a cook at the Magnolia Cafe in Austin, posed with his foot against the wall and reached up like he was putting the lid on the pot on the table.
