A prolonged heat wave and drought has settled over the central US making a carefully watered bed of flowers especially attractive to birds and butterflies. The goldfinch had just landed on the flower stalk and I raised the camera for a quick series of shots before it flew off. I was astounded to see the butterfly appear in the view finder. It was only there for one shot, but one was enough.
