The 8th floor of the Puerta Americas Hotel in Madrid, Spain. Each floor is designed by a different architect, some of them being quite phenomenal, such as Mori, Hadid and Nouvel's work. However, the most impressive and function of the floors, in my opinion was done by the interior designer, Kathryn Findlay. She likened her design to providing a space for mediation and retreat within the city, "where you feel as if you are floating on the clouds and feel the freshness of the breeze"
This image is of the central hall of the floor, with rooms to the left and right rear of the viewpoint. The couches are soft, incredibly comfortable and for some odd reason remind me of melted marshmallows. The most interesting thing about this room is the light system on the wall, it is responsive to movement and the light grid will darken and brighten to display patterns and simulacrums of the people walking through and occupying the space. It makes for an interesting sort of mirror.
